I’ve had this product for nearly a year, and I have yet to change the batteries!Looked at several different brands now available to replace a 5 year old gift that finally died. This time, I decided to go with a battery operated device, so naturally, if you put top grade batteries in it, it will have the most power and the charge will last longer. I have severe arthritis in my thumb joints from a car wreck and nearly any strain on them causes sharp pain. This wine opener is GREAT! and it comes at a GREAT price. I bought one for my friends birthday since her Pampered Chef opener died too. She loves it!I had ordered this to replace an old mechanical corkscrew, it arrived and I could not get it to work, I tried 3 sets of batteries with no success. I returned the item as faulty and received a full refund, I decided to reorder as the bottle opener looked good and felt nice in the hand.The replacement arrived promptly and I looked forward to trying it out, inserted the batteries and pressed the down button and nothing happened, I was disappointed to say the least. As i started to unscrew the battery compartment to retrieve my batteries before returning the opener when my hand hit the down button and the opener operated. It looks like when the battery cap is fully screwed in the opener does not operate if it is backed off from the fully closed (Locked) position a couple of mm it works well, the battery cap is still secure in this position the arrow on the cap just doesn't line up with the locked symbol . CIRCLE JOY should look at this as most people (myself included) would just return the item as faulty. I suspect that this was the issue with my first order too.In conclusion It is a nice bottle opener it feels quite sturdy and nice in the hand, time will tell if it lastsWhen you have four springs at the bottom for negative, and piss all at top to connect to, you know the manufacturer is basic and shifts stuff without no quality control. Should be ashamed of their selves. Disgraceful and frustrating. Anything with this company name I would never look at again. Total waste of money. 100% disappointed. Should not be allowed to sell on an established merchant like Amazon. Be aware.Got this as a present for my sister cos she drinks a lot of wine so it works well for her. Easy to use and practical.I needed this last week and I was bowled over by how easy this was to use!! I used the foil cutter (very simple) and pressed a button and within seconds my cork was out with zero breakage. I was SO IMPRESSED! It took seconds and one button to get the cork back out to throw away. Absolute recommendation!!
