Product yealed some very tasty wine. I am a experienced wine maker and figured I would give this a try. I do not ever recommend tap water like it calls for. Use spring water. Also I did not follow the steps exactly as I found a better way of making it work. I added only part of the bentonite. And did not add the chemicals they give you to put in after Fermintation and bottling stage. I have a good filtering and finishing process though. For beginners they should follow the instructions and it should also yield a quality wine.I used this kit to make wine for the first time, and it turned out great. The kit came with all ingredients and had easy to follow instructions. I used tap water and followed the instructions to a T. The wine was sweat until about 9 months, then started tasting like the Pinot Noir it is. I ended up with 20 bottles which were gone after the holidays. It recieved good reviews from all who tried it. I just started a second batch using bottled drinking water, and will let it ferment twice as long as the instructions recommend. Highly recommend this kit for ease of use, value, and good tasting wine.Have purchased several wine expert kits. We enjoy the wine. It's not too hard once you have invested in all the wine making equipment. As a senior the heavy lifting is the biggest challenge. I did not rate flavor and value as I just finished bottling last week and will wait 2-3 months before tasting.I make wine every year for Christmas, but have never made a Pinot noir. decided to pick this brand up, because it was super cheap. Glad I did. The directions are very straightforward, and almost like every other kid. I modify mine just a little bit, but if you make it like the directions, you will not have a problem at all. Just take your time, make sure everything is clean, and you will get a bottle of wine that you will be very happy with. It does make two cases, but I actually got just a little bit more than two cases out of it. also, don't expect a $100 bottle, but you certainly get at least a 10 or 15 dollar bottle for a lot less.Over the past years I have made dozens of batches of Wine Expert's Pinot Noir, Cabernet and the Shiraz blend. Over the course of a month I spend about an hours worth of time per batch. Every one has come out nice and dry and clear. Very drinkable at 4 weeks and even better aged. I usually end up with about 26-28 750 ml bottles which works out to about just over three bucks a bottle. Not bad for a minimal time investment. My one tip for new brewers would be to buy a degassing wand and a corded power drill. Degassing by hand is for the birds.I like the instructions for this wine kit better than last brand I used because less steps involved, it also came with oak chips for flavor so far it has enhanced the flavor of the wine. It makes 6 gallons of wine and about 30 bottles of wine in 4 weeks so good return on investment!I've made both the Pinot Noir and the Shiraz from this manufacturer. Both have turned out beyond expectations after appropriate aging. Tip: spend the money for a pump/filter system to filter your wine as the last step before bottling -- makes a world of difference in both structure and taste. It's a couple hundred for the pump and filters but your wine and palate will thank you.Only negative is the kit does not come with labels for the bottles.
